Associate Attorney

Attorney Nichole A. Collins joined Scaringi Law in 2010 as an Associate Attorney representing individuals in Family Law and Criminal Defense.

Over the years, Attorney Collins has litigated hundreds of cases. In her Family Law practice, Attorney Collins handles Divorce, Custody, Relocation, Grandparents Rights, Dependency, Adoption, Child Support, Spousal Support, Alimony Pendente Lite, Alimony, Equitable Distribution and Protection from Abuse among others. Attorney Collins also maintains an appeals practice and is considered the go-to attorney for Children’s Fast Track Custody Appeals.

In her Criminal Defense practice, Attorney Collins represents individuals charged with felonies, misdemeanors and summary offenses of every type, including the most serious felonies such as Aggravated Assault and Sexual Assault, to felony Drug Delivery, Firearms and child pornography cases to DUI and every type of criminal offense in between.

Attorney Collins has developed a reputation for being a vigorous and zealous advocate for her clients in the courtroom and a savvy and skilled negotiator who knows how to close the deal at the negotiating table. She uses a firm hand when dealing with opposing counsel and opposing parties, but cares deeply about her clients and their cases. She makes certain to explain and communicate with her clients thoroughly regarding each step in the family law or criminal justice process.

Attorney Collins is admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar, and the Federal United States District Court. She is also a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Dauphin County Bar Association. She was recently honored as a Top 100 Lawyer by the National Trial Lawyers organization. Additional honors include:10 Best Female Attorney client satisfaction award from the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys; Select Lawyers distinction in the areas of family law and criminal defense (as a result of a peer survey of legal professionals conducted by Susquehanna Style); and Top 100 Trial Lawyers (the National Institute of Trial Lawyers).

A summa cum laude graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Ms. Collins graduated with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice, pre-law emphasis, and as a member of the Golden Key International Honors society.

In 2006 Ms. Collins relocated to Pennsylvania and began her legal studies at Widener University School of Law, Harrisburg, where she obtained her J.D. in 2009. While attending law school, Nichole interned at the Harrisburg Civil Law Clinic providing free legal work to indigent clients in the Harrisburg area. She was also a member of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA).

Upon graduation, Attorney Collins externed at the Department of State, Bureau of Professional and Occupational affairs (BPOA), Counsel Division. The BPOA regulates the 29 professional and occupational licensing boards. Attorney Collins worked primarily with the following boards: Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Psychology, and Real Estate, and her primary responsibility was to draft recommendations to the board regarding whether or not disciplinary action should be taken against a licensee.

Next, Attorney Collins accepted a job as Legislative Counsel for State Senator Anthony Williams. Her responsibilities included: drafting and promoting legislation, attending Committee Meetings, briefing the Senator on proposed legislation, meeting with lobbyists, giving speeches on the Senator's behalf and more.

At one point, Nichole decided the path where she could actually make a difference would be by advocating for people on an individual level. She left the Senate in August of 2010 and began her private practice journey with Scaringi Law in 2010. She left Scaringi Law in 2014 to continue her family law and criminal defense practice at another law firm in the area and then returned to Scaringi Law in August of 2017.
