Consider Mediation of Legal Disputes

undefinedBy Keith E. Kendall, Esq.

I have participated in many mediation sessions in my employment law practice, in many different forums. I have found it to be a very useful tool in resolving the legal disputes I handle. Out of the 100 or so mediations I've been involved with, at least 80% or more of the cases mediated were settled. Virtually every legal and administrative forum - from the courts to administrative agencies - has now established a mediation program which allows the parties to take a break from the litigation of their case, come together in a non-hostile environment, and have a mediator work to help them to resolve their dispute. The next time you have the misfortune of being involved in a legal dispute, you should ask your attorney what your mediation options are. Your legal dispute could be resolved more quickly, and at much less expense than the traditional, litigation approach.
